Now that you've been welcomed let me tell you a bit about the things that go down on this site.  I am Zak you can call me Zak, or the ska-fessor.   I am a huge fan of SKA of all waves and think that it should be shared by all.  This is a wonederful genre of music that although no longer main stream is still alive and well so continue skankin and have a great time.

for those of you who have yet to be enlightened on what ska is, i pity you and will take mercy on your poor tortured soul.  Ska is a form of music that was derived in Jamacia when reggae artists began to incorperate american style music into their form of reggae.  All i have to say is thank god, buddah, jesus, Me, or whoever who worship for the Jamaicans!

Waves of Ska

Also for those who are unaware or those who are just curious.  there are 3 diffrent waves of ska and these are my ways of explaining them if you dont agree i dont care.

1st wave - close to reggae bands like toots and the maytals, and desmond dekker

2nd wave - Two tone!!!  My fav in the middle of the two wave bands like the specials and the toasters

3rd wave - close to punk can be very good or very bad bands like Reel big fish, the mad caddies and the aquabats

Along with these waves their are sub categoreys

Dub- laid back reggae-esque  rally neat genre bands like the Slackers, the Aggrolites, the Skanksters

Ska-Core- A mix of ska and hardcore. bands like the voodoo glow skulls, a billion ernies

One of my all time favortie bands the Mad Caddies are from around where i live and are a great ska band.
